- There has been increasing evidence for airborne route of transmission of SARS-CoV-2 via aerosols which is now considered to be important by international agencies WHO, REHVA, ASHRAE and by health authorities in several countries
- The airborne transmission is a major risk in indoor settings. Significantly, research carried out by CSIR constituent labs, Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CSIR-CCMB) and CSIR-Institute of Microbial Technology (CSIR-IMTECH) in September 2020 had demonstrated experimentally that SARS-CoV-2 viral particles could be detected in air even after 2 hours of exit of infected persons from a room and at distances much greater than a few meters as well(S C. Moharir et al.,2020)strengthening evidence of airborne transmission of the SARS-CoV-2
- The CSIR-CSIO developed product is tested for more than 99 % disinfection and could be used as a retrofit solution to Air Handling Units (AHUs) of buildings, transport vehicles and other spin off applications. The UV-C is energy efficient system, improves airflow through coils, enhances indoor air quality,requires less maintenance, easy to retrofit with any existing system having AHU ducts, and has low initial setup cost. The system comes with commercialized standards and certifications.

- During the ongoing second coronavirus wave, the Nari Sena thought of providing healthy, hygienic and delicious food to Covid-19 patients and set up kitchens at the houses of the members. Almost 100 women are working for this program
- This service has been available since April 29 this year in Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Guntur cities in Andhra Pradesh; Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Siddipet.
- The Nari Sena has supplied almost 10,000 meals till date to the needy.'Nari Sena Global Women Forum' is an all-women service organization founded by Latha Chowdary Botla, who is a resident of Hyderabad.

- देश भर में अब तक 19 करोड साठ लाख से अधिक कोविड टीके लगाये जा चुके हैं। स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय ने कहा है कि पिछले 24 घंटों के दौरान दो लाख 22 हजार से अधिक लोगों में संक्रमण की पुष्टि हुई है। इसे मिलाकर संक्रमित लोगों की संख्या बढकर दो करोड 67 लाख से अधिक हो गई है। कल इस संक्रमण से तीन लाख दो हजार से अधिक लोग ठीक हुए।
- अब तक देश में दो करोड 37 लाख 28 हजार से अधिक लोग स्वस्थ हो चुके हैं। ठीक होने की दर अब 88 दशमलव तीन शून्य प्रतिशत हो गई है। पिछले 24 घंटों के दौरान चार हजार 54 लोगों की मौत की पुष्टि हुई है। इसे मिलाकर देश में मरने वालों की संख्या तीन लाख तीन हजार 720 हो गई है। देश में अभी भी 27 लाख से अधिक लोगों का इलाज चल रहा है।
- भारतीय आयुर्विज्ञान अनुसंधान परिषद आईसीएमआर ने कहा है कि कल तक 33 करोड पांच लाख से अधिक नमूनों की जांच की जा चुकी है। आईसीएमआर ने यह भी कहा है कि कल 19 लाख 28 हजार से अधिक नमूनों की जांच की गई।

- आकांक्षा ने कहा, "रोबोट का मूल कार्य संक्रमित व्यक्ति को दवा, भोजन, पानी, nebulizer और ऑक्सीजन आदि पहुंचाना है। इस पर लगे हाई-रिज़ॉल्यूशन विज़न कैमरे का उपयोग करके रोबोट 360 डिग्री तक घूम सकता है।"
- "यह रोबोट किसी भी संक्रमित मरीज, लाचार व्यक्ति का बेसिक मेडिकल जांच प्रामाणिकता के साथ दूर से और रियल टाइम डाटा और डेटाबेस के साथ जांच करता है। साथ ही इस रोबोट की मदद से रक्त में ग्लूकोस की मात्रा, रक्त में ऑक्सीजन की मात्रा, हृदय गति, तापमान, ब्लड प्रेशर, वजन, ई.सी.जी., वायरलेस स्टेथेस्कोप से फेफड़ा, हृदय इत्यादि की जांच की जा सकती है।"
- आकांक्षा ने समाचार एजेंसी एएनआई के हवाले से कहा, "इस रोबोट की मदद से ऑक्सीजन, हृदय गति, तापमान इत्यादि की जांच की जा सकती है। हमने इस प्रोजेक्ट को इसके तत्काल उपयोग के लिए राज्य और केंद्र सरकार के साथ साझा किया है।"

- Drug major Roche India on Monday announced the launch of its first batch of antibody cocktail against COVID-19 in India. The antibody cocktail -- Casirivimab and Imdevimab -- is priced at Rs 59,750 per dose.
- The Roche's antibody cocktail was given to then US President Donald Trump when he contracted COVID-19 last year. The drug will be marketed in India by Cipla and the second batch will be made available by mid-June.
- The drug will be available through leading hospitals and COVID treatment centres. The Central Drugs Standards Control Organisation (CDSCO) had recently provided an Emergency Use Authorisation (EUA) for the antibody cocktail in India.

- Uttarakhand government announced production of injections used in treatment of the disease known medically as mucormycosis.
- Director General-Health of Uttrakhand, Dr Tripti Bahuguna has said that the production of injections used in the treatment of black fungus has begun in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand.
- She said a consignment of 12,000 injections will be delivered by Thursday, after which the state is expected to get some respite from this disease.

- महाराष्ट्र के अहमदनगर जिले के एक छोटे से गांव-भोयारे खुर्द के लोगों ने कोरोना के खिलाफ व्यापक जन जागरूकता अभियान चलाकर जिसमें कोविड संक्रमण को रोकने के लिए उपयुक्त व्यवहार को अपनाकर, नियमित स्वास्थ्य जांच कर और संक्रमित लोगों को क्वारंटाइन (अलग) कर न सिर्फ कोरोना वायरस के प्रसार को नियंत्रित करने में सफल हुए हैं बल्कि पूरे गांव को कोविड से मुक्त भी करने में सफल हुए हैं।
- हिवारे बाजार के नक्शेकदम पर चलते हुए, जिसकी सफलता की कहानी पहले से ही लिखित है, 1,500 लोगों की आबादी वाले इस छोटे से गांव ने दिखाया है कि लोगों के सामूहिक प्रयासों में कोविड-19 संक्रमण को बिल्कुल खत्म किया जा सकता है और पूरे गांव को कोरोना से मुक्त बनाया जा सकता है।
- अहमदनगर शहर से लगभग 20 किमी की दूरी पर, भोयारे खुर्द एक पहाड़ी क्षेत्र में स्थित गांव है। सूखाग्रस्त क्षेत्र होने के कारण बहुत सारे ग्रामीण रोजगार की तलाश में मुंबई और अन्य बड़े शहरों में पलायन कर गए हैं। हालांकि, राज्य सरकार द्वारा लॉकडाउन लागू किए जाने के बाद अधिकांश श्रमिक अपने पैतृक गांव वापस आ गए हैं।
